Evga: SLI patches now on regular basis
Evga plans to offer patches that deliver SLI optimizations for new games or demo versions on a regular basis.
The current SLI patch is based on the Geforce 182.05 driver and delivers SLI profiles for Burnout Paradise and the DirectX 10 mode of the Necrovision demo version. Evga wants to bridge the gap between the release of a new game and the release of an official Nvidia driver that delivers an appropriate SLI profile.
Evga is offering the SLI patch only for Windows Vista at the moment, but if demand is high, the company wants to integrate windows XP, too. The current version is dated 02.11.09.
A disadvantage of the Evga SLI patch is that all SLI profiles are reset, because of what customized SLI profiles have to be re-created. WHQL drivers also lose their certification. The download at Evga is available to registered users only.
