Power consumption of 53 graphics cards in comparison [Hardspell]
How are older graphics cards and low budget models of AMD and Nvidia doing in comparison with current pixel accelerators when power consumption is concerned? The website Hardspell made the tests.
DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 graphics cards competed in 3DMark 06 and the newer 3DMark Vantage. The testers did not pay attention to the performance but only to the galvanometer. Furthermore the cards were tested under 2D conditions.
The test system was an AMD Phenom X3 8750 on a 790GX motherboard and 2 GiByte DDR2 800 RAM. A first hint to the results is the used 500 Watt power unit which could obviously tame all graphics cards.
The complete benchmark test can be found at Hardspell.
