BFG announces two overclocked GTX 260
In a press release the graphics cards specialist BFG introduces two OC versions of the Geforce GTX 260.
The models go by the names Geforce GTX 260 OC2 and GTX 260 OCX. While the default GTX 260 runs with the clock speeds 576/1,242/999 Megahertz, the OC2 is set to 630/1,350/1,063 Megahertz. The OCX edition goes up to 655/1,494/1,125 Megahertz. BFG isn't changing the cooling system, besides an own sticker.
As our benchmarks reveal, a heavily overclocked GTX 260 can compete to a Geforce GTX 280 most of the time. This gives the chance to save some money. But one might not forget that a GTX 280 can be overclocked, too.
