The final Nvidia cards with GT216 chip are not intended for the high-end but for the middle-class market. Allegedly the memory interface has only a width of 192 Bit as Geforce 9600 GSO cards do. Therefore the specifications concerning the storage capacity sound rather unusual. 768 MiByte GDDR3 RAM with 1.2 GHz will probably be possible on most cards with GT216 GPU. In this case economy versions must deal with only 384 MiByte, while some manufacturers will surely offer Geforce cards with 1,536 MiByte.
As usual with rumors, final key data is still unknown. It can be assumed that 168 Shader ALUs will be used and arranged in seven clusters with 24 shader ALUs each. Additionally Nvidia's GT216 56 texture units shall be used. According to Expreview the 40 nanometer process will lower the production cost and could therefore lead to an intensified price war between AMD and Nvidia.
