Geforce 9600 GT secretly switched to 55 nm
After Nvidia had already switched to the more cost efficient 55 nanometer structure with the G92 and G96, now the G94 chip, which is used on the Geforce 9600 GT, is produced in the smaller architecture, too.
Both the Geforce 9800 GTX+ and the Geforce 9500 GT, both of which already had to endure the stress and strains of the PCGH Test Lab, had been shrunk, too. Now expreview.com got their hands on a sample of a Galaxy Geforce 9600 GT, which is equipped with a 55 nanometers GPU. The 55 nm structure can be identified by the B1 attachment of the Die inscription.
It is said, that the clock speeds have not been changed. If this increases the overclocking tolerances will be checked by our OC expert Oliver Pusse.
