Nvidia Fermi: GF100 Triple-SLI and mass production
Apparently Nvidia isn't showing a single GF100 Fermi card only, but even a 3-way SLI system. Furthermore mass production of the new Nvidia card has been confirmed.
As expected, Nvidia reveals new information about the GF100 graphics card at the CES. But in contrast to what has been reported previously there aren't only system with a single Fermi card on display but also 3-way SLI setup. Hwupgrade got pictures that show a water cooled system that is equipped with three GF100s and a EVGA X58 motherboard - the CPU has not been identified though.
Besides that there is new information about the release date. PCGH reporter Roland Austinat has been at the Keynote of Nvidia CEO Huang, where the mass production of the GF100 Fermi has been confirmed. During the presentation of 3D Vision Surround Avatar has been shown on three displays - it has been said that a single GF100 handled the video output. Up to now it is not clear if the announced release schedule of "Q1” refers to Nvidia's financial quarter, which goes from January 26 to April 26, or to the ‘real' first quarter.
