Gigabyte Radeon HD 4650 for the AGP slot
And again there is a graphics card for those who still use a motherboard with an AGP slot. Gigabyte delivers an appropriate Radeon HD 4650.
Gigabyte introduced a Radeon HD 4650 graphics card (GV-R465D2-1GI) for the AGP slot. The card supports the AGP 8x standard and offers one HDMI, one VGA and one DVI connector. The memory interface of the 1,024 MiByte VRAM is 128 Bit wide.
The 55 nanometer GPU has 320 Shader units and 32 texture units, so it's not a performance monster, but fast enough for casual gaming and most likely a good alternative to older AGP graphics cards. While the chi frequency is set to 600 MHz the memory is running at 800 MHz. According to Gigabyte the maximal power consumption doesn't exceed 55 watt.
Currently there is no information about the expected prices or the release date of the Radeon HD 4650 AGP. Only recently Amazon.com caused quite a stir since the e-tailer offered a HD 4770 for the AGP slot by mistake.
