The guys of VR-Zone were able to check out the performance of AMD's new graphics card at Computex in Taipei.

Beside new pictures of the graphics card itself, they also present screenshots of the driver. The beta version Catalyst identifies the HD 4850 without problems and displays the known 625 MHZ GPU clock speed and 993 MHz memory clock speed. Rumors say, that it is easily possible have the chip running at 700 MHz.
The overclocked Radeon RV770Pro scored 6,466 points in the 3D Mark Vantage "performance”-test with the non final driver. In our own benchmarks, a Geforce 9800 GTX scored about 6,000 points with a 4 GHz Intel Quad Core. Since the AMD system isn't likely to have used such a CPU and the driver is not optimized yet, it might be possible to get the 10 percent advantage to the Geforce.
