Gigabyte introduces the Super Overclock graphics cards series
The graphics cards of the Super Overclock series are said to be equipped with handpicked GPUs, high quality components and thus offer enhanced overclocking capabilities.
The first model of Gigabyte's Super Overclock series is a Geforce GTX260-216, which has a GPU frequency of 680 MHz (default 576 MHz). The Shader frequency is increased from 1,242 MHz to 1,466 MHz and the 896 MiByte video memory are running at 1,175 MHz instead of 999 MHz. Due to the ex-factory overclocking the graphics card is supposed to reach 25 percent more points in 3DMark Vantage than a default GTX260. In addition to the increased performance the power consumption is also said to be four percent lower.
Gigabyte has introduced the Super Overclock series in order to extent the product array in the graphics card sector. The devices of this series are intended for enhanced overclocking capabilities. Therefore Gigabyte wants to handpick the GPUs and test them for their OC capabilities.
The selected graphics processors are tested with Futuremark's 3DMark Vantage and are combined with other components of highest quality that are supposed to deliver high performance and less noise. Gigabyte furthermore uses two ounces of copper for the boards of the graphics cards.
