Computex: Gigabyte presents passive HD 4770 and 9800 GT
At its Computex booth Gigabyte presents two passively cooled graphics cards - a Radeon HD 4770 with 1 GiByte GDDR5 RAM and a Geforce 9800 GT with 1 GiByte GDDR3 memory.
The Gigabyte models have the identification GV-N98TSL-1GI and GV-R477SL-1GI - more detailed specifications have not been revealed yet. The coolers are longer than the PCB and therefore more space is needed inside the case. Both coolers use three heatpipes in order to dissipate the waste heat of the GPU quickly from the graphics processors and to give it to an aluminum fin bundle which pokes out of the PC due to the double-width of the slot cover.
The specification plate, which can be seen on our pictures, is interesting to read. In case of the 9800 GT it promises the "industry's best GGD3 memory” and the HD 4770 offers the "first 1 GByte GDDR5 memory and 128 Bit memory interface”.
