Nvidia to support DirectX 10.1 soon?
Tgdaily reports that Nvidia might plan to use DirectX 10.1 at the end of Q4 2008.
The website refers to a presentation slide, which given to them by an anonymous insider. This roadmap says that Nvidia plans to support DirectX 10.1 with the next generation of mobile GPUs, which is scheduled to be released in spring 2009. If this information is correct, a transition to the desktop market would only be of small effort and could be expected even earlier.
According to tgdaily.com GDDR5 will be used on Nvidia cards, too, as soon as the availability for the mass market is improved.
On our inquiry, Nvidia only neither confirmed nor denied those pieces of information: "No comment about unannounced products”, they said.
