Galaxy introduces Geforce GTX 285 with Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme GTX 280
Galaxy enhances the Geforce GTX 285 with Arctic Cooling's Accelero Xtreme GTX , a dual BIOS and a 4 +2 PWM voltage supply.
Galaxy joins the companies that offer a Geforce GTX 285 with a custom cooling solution. The Accelero Xtreme is equipped with three 92 millimeter fans that are supposed to keep the graphics card at lower temperatures. Originally developed for the GTX 260 and GTX 280 the cooler's list of compatible graphics cards has been extended with the GTX 285.
The three fans, five heatpipes and the huge heatsink are supposed to be able to deal with up to 250 watt. Galaxy also integrated a custom voltage supply: Instead of the usual analog 6-phase supply they used a 4+2 PWM design. The dual BIOS also differs from the stock variant.
More details are expected at the Cebit 2009. PC Games Hardware will be on site and deliver firsthand information from the world's biggest IT trade fair.
