According to Fudzilla, Nvidia is planning to lower the prices of the Geforce GTX 280 and GTX 260 graphics cards.
The prices for the Geforce GTX 280 are on the way down and according to Fudzilla this isn’t going to change very soon. The picture shows the price development of the Asus ENGTX280/HTDP.
Over the past few days the prices for Nvidia's GT200 cards were steadily decreasing, but it seems like this is not the end. Fudzilla reports that Nvidia wants to sell the chips even cheaper to their partners. The GTX 280 is said to drop about 90 US-Dollar and the GTX 260 is said to become cheaper by about 30 US-Dollar.
The prices for the ENGTX260/HTDP have been adjusted, too.
A reason for this course of action could be the amount of said graphics cards sold - which might not be what Nvidia expected - and the unexpectedly good performance of the Radeon HD 4870, which is available for round about 200 Euro.
