Geforce GTX 260 in 55nm already on sale?
News about Nvidia's next graphics chip generation is an almost daily occurrence currently. After focus had been on the top models Geforce GTX 295 and GTX 285 up to now, there now are details of the 55 nm GTX 260 available.
This model might be interesting for more people than the Enthusiast versions and possible is already on sale in Japan. Watch.impress.co.jp mentions a card from Inno3d which is supposed to be produced in 55nm architecture and equipped with 216 streaming units, a 448 Bit memory interface and 896 MiByte GDDR3 memory. On the pictures it seems like Inno3d increased the clock speeds of the GT200b and runs the chip at 620 MHz instead of 576 Megahertz. With a price of 34,940 Yen or about 390 US-Dollars Inoo3d's 55 nanometer GTX surly is not cheap, but it will be a question of time before the prices will drop to a normal level.
