Geforce GTX 295 and Geforce GTX 285 on January 8, 2009?
The rumors about a dual chip graphics card based on the 55 nanometer GT200b GPU have been around the web for some time already. Now the first release date for such a card surfaced.
According to a post n the forums of vr-zone, Nvidia is said to introduce a graphics card with two GT200b GPUs at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on January 8, 2009. The device is supposed to be named GTX 295. It will have 2x 896 MiByte GDDR3 connected to the GPUs via a 448 bit interface. Thus the cad would actually equal two GTX 260s.
For people with an aversion to micro stuttering Nvidia is also said to have the GTX 285 in store. The card is also supposed to have a 55 nm GT200b GPU and is intended to replace the current GTX 280.
