Our test lab got a parcel from Asus today. Contents: Two GT200 GPUs, 4 GiByte GDDR3-RAM, one radial fan, two PCBs and the serial number 0057/1000. The Asus Mars is here.
The concept is comparable with a Geforce GTX 295 and with only two full GTX 285 GPUs with 2 GiByte video memory each Asus wants to present the fastest graphics card of the world. The Asus Mars from the Republic of Gamers series (ROG) is limited to 1,000 samples and concerning its specifications it should be the fastest Geforce card. Dependant on the game and the settings a Radeon HD 4870 X2 could achieve higher fps rates, though.
Specifications of the Asus MARS: • 2x GT200b (55 nm) • 2x 240 Shader ALUs (1,476 MHz) • 2x 51,840 MTexel/sec. (648 MHz) • 2x 512 Bit Smemory interface • 2x 2,048 MiByte video memory • 2x 147.5 GByte bandwidth (1,152 MHz) • limited to 1,000 samples • Price: >1.000 Euro
At the moment we are preparing a test of the graphics card - what do you think about Asus' prestigious product? Please tell us in the commentaries.
