HIS presents Radeon HD 4890 with custom cooling
AMD's board partner HIS has introduced a Radeon HD 4890 with a custom cooling solution.
The graphics card manufacturer HIS has released an AMD Radeon HD 4890 with a custom cooling solution. The Radeon HD 4890 Icooler x4, as the device is called, is equipped with a dual slot cooler that covers almost the complete PCB. Given the design of the cooler it can be expected that at least a part of the heated air is exhausted from the case.
The technical details of the card match AMD's default settings. The GPU with 800 streaming processors is running at 850 MHz, the 1 GiByte big GDDR5 video memory is connected with an 256 Bit interface and runs at 975 MHz. The video output also offers the common options: Two Dual Link DVI ports and a S-Video output.
According to HIS one of the most important features of the Icooler x4 is that the cooler reaches lower temperatures than AMD's stock solution and is quieter at the same time.
