The number of Nvidia's exclusive board partners is decreasing. Albatron has announced the first Ati GPU based graphics card.
The Radeon HD4890-1G is Albatron's first Ati graphics card ever.
In order to offer a bigger variety to the customers, the Taiwan based company Albatron has decided to offer an Ati based graphics card. The Radeon HD4890-1G is, as the name indicates, equipped with Ati's RV790 chip. In the announcement no clock speeds are mentioned, but one might expect that they will match Ati's default values. Thus the RV790 chip is expected to run at 850 MHz while the 1,024 MiByte GDDR5 VRAM should be set to 1,950 MHz.
According to the Press Release the Radeon HD4890-1G won't be Albatron's only Ati graphics card. The product array is said to be extended soon.
Thus Albatron is, after Palit, Evga and Xfx, the fourth board partner who quits Nvidia exclusiveness.
