Does AMD publish 40 nanometer GPUs earlier than Nvidia?
While Nvidia is about to bring the first graphics cards with 55 nanometer GPUs on the market, it seems like AMD is one step ahead.
Will AMD have a head start with 40 nm GPUs compared to Nvidia?

Reportedly the tape-out for AMD's 40 nanometer GPUs has been proven and AMD is said to be quite happy with the present results.
AMD's 40 nanometer GPUs are said to be based on the RV770 chips which are used for the Radeon HD4800 graphics cards. No details are known but the new fabrication will probably allow smaller and more energy-efficient GPUs with higher clock speeds.
In Fudzilla's estimation Nvidia will design the 40 nanometer GPUs on the GT200 architecture and publish more power efficient chips with raised frequencies. As the transition to the 40 nanometer process is concerned, AMD is supposed to be one step ahead of Nvidia.
