Gothic 3: Fans improve original game again - Are players better developers?
After Gothic 3 fans already refined the RPG with their community patch 1.7, modders are now working on the Community Story Project.
The Community Story Project has an ambitious aim. Gothic 3 has already been pepped up with the community patch 1.7 as well as a quest package. Now a new group of Gothic 3 fans wants to improve the story of the game so that Gothic 3 "becomes the game it should be: a worthy successor of Gothic 1 and 2 (including add-on)”.
The project's focus is the main story (more background and longer quests/quest series), guilds/fraction quests (a guild system based on Gothic 1/2, more guild-based quests), freedom, logical errors, Easter eggs (references to Gothic 1/2) and textures (armor, monsters, items). The release of this fan add-on is planned before the launch of Gothic 4. The Black Fog Mod will also be integrated which revises the Gothic 3 textures so that the original dark look of Gothic 1 and 2 will come into effect. Several comparison pictures can be found below.
In the thread of the Worldofplayers forum you will read that more modders are welcome who support the project. We ask for large attendance. What do you think about the project? Do you think that players are the better developers? Please tell us in the commentaries.
