Far Cry 2: Direct X 10.1 and better HD 4870 X2 performance with hotfix driver
New rumors about Far Cry 2. Ati is said to deliver a driver hotfix that doesn't just increase the performance of the HD 4870 X2. Furthermore the game is said to support Direct X 10.1.
In our benchmarks AMD's Radeon HD 4870 X2 didn't run as well as expected. Therefore we already estimated that a driver update would deliver a performance boost soon. Now it looks like Ati will publish a hotfix that will help the dual GPU card to receive more fps in Far Cry 2.
According to sources close to Fudzilla this driver will enable the HD 4870 X2 to beat Nvidia's GTX 280. We will check that as soon as we get our hands on that driver. We will also check any new drivers Nvidia might offer for their cards as well as the recently released Catalyst 8.10.
In regards of the Direct X 10.1 support we will have to investigate, because this information does not match with the data available to PCGH.
