Crysis meets console: How to play the jungle shooter in a very different way
PCGH plays Crysis with the Xbox 360 gamepad and on 720p
Crysis is not yet announced for any gaming console, but PCGH simulates the feeling in a special gaming session. Our main tool: The Xbox 360 controller for Windows as this is completely the same as for the Xbox.
You will find a complete support for Pads in Crysis - Just plug in the controller and you may navigate through the game and the menus. In the game itself you may execute every function directly with the buttons like special powers of the nano suite, duck and run or jump.
Shooter players normally avoid gamepads. But after a short period you may play Crysis very well. You move the player with the left stick, and with the right one you change the sight. You shoot with the right trigger, the left one opens up the nano suite menu. The control is very precise like in Bioshock or Halo.
For the total console feeling, we played Crysis on a beamer (Sanyo Z4), sitting on the couch. You have two advantages: You get more Fps with 1.280x720 (720p), and playing Crysis on a beamer is a totally different gaming atmosphere. ;-)
And for the Vista guys: Vista comes with the appropriate drivers for the Xbox controller - just plug it in and the controller gets installed.
