Heavy Rain: A deposition of current PC graphics quality?
Does the Playstation 3-exclusive game Heavy Rain offer a better graphics quality than all released PC titles? Those speculations can currently be found everywhere in the internet.
For some game websites Heavy Rain, the long awaited PS3-exclusive adventure, seems to be a ray of hope concerning graphics quality. Hiphopgamershow.com for instance claims that the graphics quality of Heavy Rain is on par with PC games such as Crysis or even better.
No question: The functionality of the current console generation is definitely comparable with current PCs. They both offer features like HD video playback, Wifi, online gaming and in case of the Playstation 3 even a Blu-ray drive. Concerning price performance ratio consoles could even be better than PCs. The new Playstation 3 Slim will only cost about 300 Euro. But how about the graphics quality? Below you see a direct comparison between Crysis and Heavy Rain - decide for yourself:
At the Gamescom 2009 in Cologne our German colleagues could already receive an impression of Heavy Rain. They liked the facial animation a lot which was very realistic indeed. But the focus of Sony's presentation was the gameplay itself. The player often has several options what he wants to do and this always affects the future course of the game.
