Command & Conquer 4: Official screenshots and artworks
Electronic Arts released new material of Command & Conquer 4. The official screenshots and artworks give an impression of the strategy game.
Publisher Electronic Arts delivered new screenshots and artworks of Command & Conquer 4. The real-time strategy game is supposed to be released around late March 2010. A few weeks ago it has been confirmed that the new C&C game will require a permanent internet connection, even for the single player campaign.
Command & Conquer 4 is based on the SAGE Engine, which has already been used for Renegade back in 2002. Accordingly the game does convince on the first screenshots. Although it won't be released until 2010 it doesn't look better than C&C 3 in 2007 - in some parts it looks even worse. The shadows that have been criticized in the previous parts of the series have not been improved, the textures of the units are unrealistic and the environment is not very detailed.
Nevertheless, Command & Conquer 4 has its possibilities. Although the graphics are not the best on the market, gamers will most likely focus on the gameplay and the story. Of course it is hard to judge a game from screenshots only, so we are anxiously waiting for the first playable versions.
