Cebit 2009: 25 percent less exhibitors than in 2008
Cebit 2009 will host fewer exhibitors than in 2008: As the exhibition corporation reported there will be 4,300 exhibitors visiting the fair this year. This is a decline of 25 percent.
The worldwide economic situation affects the world's biggest IT trade show. As the exhibition cooperation revealed there will only be 4,300 exhibitors this at the Cebit 2009 - 25 percent less than in the previous year. Such a low result had been reached in 1999 for the last time. The current record had been achieved in 2001 when 8,100 exhibitors came to Hannover. One of the effects of this development is that the booked booth space is 20 percent lower than in 2008.
Nevertheless the exhibition management is pleased with the numbers. Given the currently tense economic situation worldwide, one could not have expected anything more. Among the famous companies that won't be on site are AMD, O2, Ericsson, Trekstor, Toshiba, Kyocera and Terratec.
PC Games Hardware will be on site at the Cebit 2009 and deliver first hand information form the world's biggest IT trade fair.
