AMD Phenom II TWKR Black Edition - mysterious CPU sighted
Just recently an AMD Phenom II TWKR Black Edition, that doesn't bear any of the usual serial numbers, has been given to Wallace Santos the CEO of PC maker Maingear.
Wallace Santos, CEO of the custom PC maker Maingear received a rather mysterious Phenom II Black Edition. Nothing special so far, but the processor doesn't have a model number nor are there any details.
The AMD Phenom II BE is delivered in a nice black box and on the heatspreader only the name and the tag TWKR Black Edition, the number 42 and the note Not for Sale can be read. It is said that the CPU offers better overclocking capabilities than the current top processor, the Phenom II X4 955 BE, which had cracked the 7 GHz limit with extreme cooling solutions.
Many people guess that TWKR stand for TWeaKeR, which would be an indicator that the AMD processor really is intended for extreme overclocking purposes. We will deliver more information as soon as Wallace Santos updates his Blog.
