Is AMD's Deneb AM2+ compatible?
Fudzilla wants to have learned, that AMD secures the future of their AM2+ motherboards and enables Deneb to run on them.
Actually the 45 nanometer CPU of the Stars family was designed as a native Socket AM3 processor. But AMD keeps the number and arrangement of the pins, the Deneb and the Deneb FX fit into the Socket AM2+, too.
In contrast to prior standard memory replacements, the integrated controller of the K10 processor can work with DDR2 and DDR3. Therefore it is not necessary to change the motherboard.
