Computerbase reports, that Intel is going to offer additional Quad Cores at low prices.
Intel introduces the Q8000 series.
The future Quad Cores are named Q8000. The 8 suggests that the processors don't have the same power as the Q9x00 series. They still are produced in 45 nanometer structure and the FSB is 1,333. On the contrary the L2-Cache was radically reduced to 2x 2 MiByte and the visualization technique Vanderpool is missing, too.
The first model, the Q8200 has a 2.33 GHz clock speed and a 95 watt TDP. But with a price of 203 US-Dollar it won't have a easy time against the Q6600.
