Phenom II with 6.2 GHz - better overclocking capabilities than Core 2?
In the past weeks AMD already demonstrated the OC capabilities of the Phenom II with impressive results. According to the latest press release, AMD even reached 6.2 GHz with a Phenom II - running stable enough for Crysis benchmarks.
With those results, the Phenom II would have equal or even better overclocking capabilities than current Core 2 processors which rarely reach more than 6 GHz. According to AMD normal Phenom II CPUs have been used for the overclocking attempts and they only chose the best out of ten. With this the company wants to invalidate rumors from several forums that say the retail Phenom II will have a noticeably lower OC capability than the prerelease versions.
Being confident AMD even directs a little side blow at the competition: Intel is supposed to try their best in order to select CPUs with high OC capabilities.
