Since AMD has introduced new processors the company's portfolio has to be trimmed and prices of some Phenom II an Athlon II CPUs are adjusted.
Just recently AMD has announced and introduced new processors. Accordingly the current array of CPUs is adjusted. On the one hand AMD changed the prices of several former high-end chips and on the other hand several models were removed from the price list.
The changes also clear up the huge number of offered CPUs. Although some Athlon II versions are newly introduced a lot of Phenom IIs have nevertheless been cut out. Among the affected processors are the Phenom II X4 810, the Phenom II X3 720 BE and the Phenom II X2 550 BE.
The price adjustments are quite impressive: One can now save up to 70 USD. Furthermore the Phenom II X4 955 and 965 have been assigned with different prices, too, and the 945 isn't available as 125W TDP version anymore. All in all AMD focuses a little more on the Athlon CPUs and emphasizes the high quality position of the Phenom processors. While there are 13 Athlon IIs in diverse configurations, there are only 5 Phenom IIs.
