Intel puts processor details to the box cover
In order to reduce confusion among customers Intel will put the name and the appropriate socket of a processor on the cover of the box.
The new processor branding has only been one step for Intel to reduce confusion among customers. The chip manufacturer now wants to add additional information to the box of new processors, says TCMagazine. Besides the already visible details like processor series the boxes of the new CPUs will also list the compatible socket and the exact name of the processor on the cover. Up to now those details were only mentioned on a small label on the side of the box.
Officially the new declaration is said to come into effect on September 8. One of the first processors with the additional information on the cover will be the core i5-750.
