Intel introduces new CPU logos and 5 star performance rating
Intel's new system with new logos and the performance rating is said to be part of a aggressive plan to simplify the market structure.
The logos of the CPUs have been redesigned, too: The upper right corner now shows a Die detail of the core type. Below the Intel logo the name and tag of the individual processor series are written.
In addition to the new logos Intel introduced the 5 star performance rating system in order to make it easier to distinguish between the different levels of performance. The rating goes from 1 (low performance) to 5 (high-end), so that even people who don't have detail CPU knowledge can see which processor is the best choice for them. Intel will extend the rating system to the Nehalem based Xeon CPUs.
