AMD brings Phenom II X4 945 with 95W TDP
It seems like AMD got the high-end devices of the Phenom II series under control. After the Phenom II X4 925 there now is a 945er with only 95W TDP and increased maximal temperature.
But AMD didn't just lower the temperature, but increase the maximal, tolerable temperature form 61 degrees Celsius to 71 degrees Celsius. This can be learned from the product datasheet of the Phenom II X4 945/95 Watt at AMDcompare. This fact might make overclockers happy. The 95 watt version of the processor can be identified via the product number. The Boxed version is taken as an example: HDX945WFGIBOX - the WF indicates the 95 watt TDP. The 125 watt processor is labeled with HDX945FBGIBOX. Most shops give the new edition of the Phenom II X4 945 an additional 95 Watt tag.
The Phenom II X4 945 with 85 watt TDP has already been listed by several shops and can be ordered for about 150 Euros. But at the moment only the Boxed version is available - the Tray version is expected to follow soon.
