New AMD desktop processors in April?
In April and June AMD will allegedly introduce six new desktop processors in total: two quad-core, two triple-core and two dual-core models. Furthermore several CPUs are said to be canceled.
It is rumored that AMD will introduce six new desktop processors in April and June 2009. All CPUs are supposedly produced in 45 nanometer technology. Mentioned for April are the two quad-core models Athlon X4 615 and 605 and the two triple-core CPUs Athlon X3 420 and 410. In June the two dual-core processors Athlon X2 240 and 235 should follow.
AMD supposedly accepts the last orders for the Phenom II X4 920 and the 940 Black Edition in May. The CPUs Phenom X4 9950 and 9850 will probably not be available for order after end of March. According to motherboard manufacturers the version 9650 is already out of stock. The same will happen for the versions 9750, 9850 and 9950 in June.
Changes are also planned for the triple-cores: Phenom X3 8450 and 8550 are already expiring, the model 8650 will be available until March, the models 8850 and 8750 will be available until June. According to digitimes the low-power model Athlon X2 4450e will expire in March. AMD has not commented the rumors.
