Intel EOL: E5200, Q8200, Q8200S and Atom Z500 to phase out
Intel announced that several processors will be removed from the product array. The EOL (End of Life) status has been assigned to the Pentium E5200, the Core 2 Quad Q8200(s) and the Atom Z500.
Once again Intel cleans the product portfolio and announced that some processors won't be offered anymore. First of the affected CPUs is the Pentium E5200. The last shipments will be made on January 07, 2011 (tray version) respectively August 6, 2010 (boxed version). The E5200 is running at 2.5 GHz and is currently produced in the R0 Stepping.
A little more popular is the Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 and the energy efficient version Q8200s, both of which are taken off the shelves, too. Intel will ship the last batch on July 8, 2010 (tray) respectively August 6, 2010 (boxed). The Q8200 is running at 2.33 GHz.
Besides the bigger processors and the recent announcement of the new Pinetrail Atom platform, the Intel Atom Z500 has to leave the stage, too. The energy efficient netbook processor is clocked to only 800 MHz.
