The Core i7-975 XE is said to replace Intel's current top CPU, the i7-965 XE, soon.
The Core i7-975 XE with 3.33 GHz, 4x 256 KiByte L2 cache, 8 MiByte L3 cache and a TDP of 130 watt has, like the Core i7-965 XE with its default 3.2 GHz, an open multiplier. Another difference is the Do Stepping (i7-965 XE: C0). TCMagazine reports that the release date of Intel's new high-end CPU might be rescheduled to an earlier date.
Up to now late May had been the estimated time for the Core i7-975 XE release, but now it seems like April 7 is the correct date. According to several online shops the new Intel CPU will become available on that day.
