AMD hands over more shares of The Foundry Company
When the outsourcing of AMD's chip fabs to the newly founded Foundry Company had been announced, the relative strength of all participants had been balanced. But now the Arabian investors become more important.
AMD recently announced via press release, that the share of the Arabian investors will be increased. The Advanced Technology Investment Company (ATIC) will own 65.8 percent of the Joint Venture - up to now the share was 56 percent. But the ratio of votes in the Board of Directors is not affected by this development.
The second investor, the Mubadala Development Company, will also increase the share. Besides raising stock option from 30 million to 35 million, AMD shares worth 58 million US-Dollars will be, according to the
press release, bought on December 12.
