Asus Geforce 9800 GT unveiled
We already reported about the Geforce 9800 GT. Now the first packshots of overclocked Asus cards have been revealed.
At donanimhaber.com pictures of two new Asus cards based on the Geforce 9800 GT have been published. Up to now the tag TOP marked the overclocked models of the Asus products. Now the high-end versions are called "Ultimate” and the TOP models aren't the first choice for fps junkies anymore. Confused? - Don't worry. Actually it's quite easy.
The GPU of a default 9800 GT is set to 600 Megahertz, while Shader and memory clock speed are set to 1500 respectively 900 Megahertz. The EN9800GT TOP runs at 650 / 1625 / 970 MHz, while the EN 9800GT Ultimate even tops that with 725 / 1750 / 1000 Megahertz.
We already reported about the 9800 GT actually being 8800 GT upgraded with Hybrid Power, but Asus at least offers an improvement compared to the 8800 GT. The single slot cooler has been replaced with the dual slot solution of the 8800 GTS 512. It is unknown if the GPU of the first Geforce 9800 GT cards will be produced in 55 nanometers or 65 nanometers.
