Apple is said to prepare the use of Nvidia chipsets
About two years ago Apple's annunciation to use Intel CPUs and chipsets, hit the IT industry like a thunderbolt. Now it seems as they could strike again.
According the rumors, Apple wants to get rid of Intel's unspectacular mobile chipsets and use Nvidia products instead. Although Intel won't be happy about this transition, PC Perspective thinks it will be done nevertheless.
1. Nvidia is working on an answer to Intel's Montevina chip for quite some time already.
2. The chip, called MCP79, is said to be suitable for variably use and thus useable for the whole Apple mobile product array.
3. With the recently introduced mobile graphics cards Nvidia has got an interesting lineup waiting in the wings.
4. Insiders have estimated a change in Macbook hardware for some time already.
