E3: Alan Wake released not until spring 2010 - Video -Update: New screenshots
Alan Wake - Remedy's long-term project which obviously wants to step into Duke's shoes - has been confirmed for spring 2010 at the E3 in Los Angeles.
The hype about Alan Wake seems to be unlimited. Like Duke Nukem Forever every new detail seems to induce mass hysteria. At the revealing E3 Microsoft press conference Remedy confirmed that Alan Wake will not be released this year. Fans will have to wait until spring 2010. That is true for the Xbox 360 version at least. The release of a PC version remains unclear. It is assumed that the PC version of Alan Wake will be published later. Like GTA 4 the game will initially be released exclusively for the Microsoft console. During the press conference a video of Alan Wake was presented - however, the enthusiasm has been rather restrained.

Today we can offer six new screenshots of Alan Wake as well as an on click comparison of individual time of day settings. Especially the lighting and fog effects almost promise a good, atmospheric thriller.
Remedy's Sam Lake explained to joystiq.com why it takes so long to develop Alan Wake:
Remedy is not a factory. We take our time and try out different things until we feel have found the right combination and a good balance for the game.
